TIRUMALA: Facing criticism from various quarters over the way the temple affairs are being managed, the trust board of the Tirumala Tirupati
Devasthanam (TTD) took some key decisions, including setting up of a special wing to safeguard Lord Balaji’s jewels and reforming the darshan system for the benefit of common pilgrims.

The board, which met here on Tuesday, cancelled the Rs 200 `archana anantara darshan’, Rs 100 cellar and Rs 50 darshan tickets and introduced a new Rs 300 `sheegra darshan’ ticket. “Our emphasis is on enabling the pilgrims to have an easy and speedy darshan through the `sheegra darshan’ ticket,” board chief D K Adikeshavulu Naidu said.
